UpCodes wants to make building regulations less tedious by becoming the ‘spellcheck for buildings’
On June 21st Archinect News reported that “American counties and municipalities alone have nearly 93,000 different building codes. If you are an architect, that can be an overwhelming amount of requirements to navigate, which is why Upcodes has been working on what it describes as a ‘spellcheck’ for construction…(It) uses AI to help the construction industry manage compliance. Currently compatible with Revit (though they are looking to apply it to Sketchup, ARCHICAD, and IFC models in the future), the plug in analyzes BIM data to make sure the project is meeting the necessary standards”.
Yarmus Engineering, P.C. makes it a priority to remain aware and knowledgeable of ongoing building code updates and changes so that we can incorporate same into our designs and inform our clientele of such new regulations which might affect their properties. Firm President, Andrew R. Yarmus, P.E., maintains his certification as a NYS Code Enforcement Official to ensure same. If you or your clients would prefer personalized code review services, do not utilize Revit, and/or do not wish to purchase or rely upon software platforms for code reviews, please contact our office to discuss how we can be of assistance to you regarding inspecting, reviewing, and/or certifying your applicable structures or sites for such code compliance matters.
